Smoke Detector – False Alarms
In some scenarios, your Alder smoke detector can accidentally be set off. Smoke from cooking, steam from your bathroom, dust or dirt particles from construction, any form of smoke, or excess heat over 135°F could set off your smoke detector. Trapped dirt and sometimes even bugs around or in the sensor can also trigger false alarms on occasion.
You can clean your smoke detector with compressed air. Regular cleaning of your smoke detector will help prevent false alarms. Be sure to put your system in test mode before cleaning the sensor.
