Smoke Detector – Loss of Supervision

If your touchscreen panel can’t find your smoke detector for whatever reason, this means your smoke detector isn’t being monitored. To make sure your smoke detector is being monitored, check for all of the following:

Perform a System Test. Once your system is in a test mode, go to the smoke detector and hold down the test button for 30 seconds. Then check the panel and see if it registered the smoke detector.

If your smoke detector has a history of low battery life, the battery is probably dead and needs to be replaced.

Make sure the smoke detector is within approximately 200 feet of your panel. If it’s more than 200 feet away, it’s out of range and additional equipment needs to be installed.
