A/C Power Loss means that your panel is no longer receiving AC power. Alder has a built-in fail-safe with a backup battery that lasts up to 24 hours to ensure you are fully covered in the event of a power outage. The backup battery automatically recharges itself once the AC power has been restored.

Causes

Reasons for a loss of AC power could include but not limited to:

  • Issues with the electrical outlet
  • Issues with the transformer (plug)
  • The power wire
  • The terminal on the panel
  • The electrical circuit breaker
  • A power outage in your area

Troubleshooting

We recommend checking the following:

  • Verify that the transformer (plug) is still properly secured to the outlet
  • Verify that the outlet has power
  • Verify that the outlet is not a GFCI (reset button outlet) or switch-controlled outlet
  • Inspect the power wire for any damage
  • Inspect power terminal on Cove touch panel for any damage
  • Check your home's circuit breaker has not tripped and is on
  • Verify that there is not a power outage in your area
